Outdoor Photographer interviews Bruce Dale:

My last five assignments for National Geographic were in the Southwest and it allowed me to look beyond the superficial views of the casual observer. I like the people and it seems there are times when I’m transported back in history. I know places where I can walk around and find cartridge shells on the ground left by Geronimo and his men. It seems you can almost see their footprints. I left the shells and I hope they’re still there.

His site is a real treat as well:

2000 photos in National Geographic.
Chased by an alligator in the Okefenokee.
Cornered by a five-foot diamondback rattlesnake.
Had a back massage performed by a 200-pound bear.

Last week i found a book at Barns & Nobles for 13 bucks, National Geographic On Assignment USA. Really interesting stuff. Sitting around every night before i go to sleep, paging through it and reading neat stuff accompanied by great photography. Writers and photographers, weaving great things together.

Even though my internship is strictly video and film related, i'm really leaning towards the idea of sticking with print. Who knows.
