Finally uploaded the Balloon Festival shots from back in October. I didn't really have have the: "oh my god this is spectacular" reaction to the whole deal. I dunno why. Looking at the photos I wonder why not. Maybe it was the rain. Maybe it was the "mall of america feel". Maybe i'm just a loser. Maybe all three. Maybe more.

quarlo's site performs nicely with educational bandwidth on IE 5 Mac. The music even auto loads. Cow fields and Pink Floyd. It doesn't get any better. Ok it could, but why bother.

Tim Earnst hadn't ever been to the waterfall at Big Piney Creek. He's such a fantastic photographer. An Arkansas nature photographer. Go to the bookstore and find the Arkansas section, and all of the nature/hiking/camping/photography books have "Earnst" on the spine. So I can't believe he'd never been to the waterfall at Big Piney Creek. Until now.

He's making some kind of Waterfall calandar. I think. It might be a book.

But anyway that waterfall is one of the nicest waterfalls in the state. Since we've ended up camping at the Longpool campground so much over the years because all the other rivers were too low to float, we've probably hiked out to that waterfall at least a dozen times. I can remember when me and corey and collin just happened to come upon it, while hiking some stupid little trail that led out of the campsite. To come upon something like that when you don't know about it, that's nice. So everytime we end up camping there we have to hike down and see it. Maybe we'll make it back sometime soon, before my camera gets broken or stolen, so I can take a cool photo of the waterfall, and then smash the camera when I slip on a big slimy rock. Boy this photo-journal thing sucks. I sure hope nobody's reading it.
