How I Work
Trying to design and deploy a project before all the dumb/obvious questions are answered, is asking for trouble. So I doodle, and draw, and sketch projects to death. Almost 50% of these sketches are productive. You'll never see me with a laptop in a meeting unless it's a working/coding meeting.
More freeflowing ideas about audience, language, and structure have happened when I have a pen in my hand. I try to sketch before meetings, during meetings, and after meetings to firm up concepts and identify big questions before they get lost in the details. It also keeps me from getting caught up in the technology, and focuses my brain on the basics of who, what, and why.
I'll use XD or Figma to firm up a sketch for sharing/discussion purposes, and invite collaborators to kick around a prototype in the early stages of a project.
